Introduction to API Keys

API keys are essential for allowing external applications or users to securely interact with your AppsFlyer MMP data. A limited access API key ensures that a user can only access specific data points or functionalities, enhancing security and data governance.

Before You Start: Check Your AppsFlyer Plan

The Cohort API and Master API are paid add-ons and are not included in default AppsFlyer plans. Before creating any tokens, confirm with your AppsFlyer CSM that both are in your contract.

If they are not, your key will fail validation in Ktrl regardless of how the token is configured. Ktrl checks each key against the Cohort, Master and App List APIs and tells you which of them are not enabled on your account. A missing add-on cannot be fixed with token settings.

Options: ask your AppsFlyer CSM about enabling the add-on, or use an alternative route: AppsFlyer Data Locker or Bespoke Data via S3.

AppsFlyer's Enterprise-Grade Security Package supports app-scoped tokens, so you can grant access to specific apps only.

Process

  1. Follow the steps here. Name it accordingly so you know that it is the key that Kohort are using

  2. When doing so ensure to allow at least the Cohort and Master APIs

  3. Test the token here

  4. Send the token to us via a secure method of your choosing

Additional Data Collection

  • Enable Datalocker as soon as possible to enable more sophisticated collection of data in the future and access to improved predictions later down the line. See docs here

    • Particularly for long term predictions
