Adjust Integration - Limited Access API Keys

Introduction to API Keys

API keys are essential for allowing external applications or users to securely interact with your Adjust MMP data. A limited access API key ensures that a user can only access specific data points or functionalities, enhancing security and data governance.

Process

Here’s a step-by-step guide you can follow:

  1. Log in to Adjust with a user who has Admin rights.
    ​

  2. Go to User / Account settings

    • In the Adjust dashboard, click your profile or settings icon.

    • Navigate to Account Settings → Users (or just “Users” tab).
      ​

  3. Add a new dedicated user

    • Click + New user.

    • Enter

      1. Name: Kohort (or anything that makes sense to you)

      2. Email: Use a +kohort alias on your own domain - for example, [email protected].

        1. Most providers route these to the base inbox automatically, so no new account is needed.

        2. If your email provider doesn't support +aliases, create a dedicated address like [email protected] instead.

      3. Language preference English

    • Choose the Custom role / permission level

      1. Apps: Select the apps you want ingested onto the kohort platform

      2. All links

      3. All partners

      4. All metrics

      5. Also ensure “Ad spend data” is toggled
        ​

  4. Send the invitation

    • Once details are set, click Add user. This will send an invite email to your account.

    • Open the invite from your new email inbox, accept it, and set a password. Then, while logged in as this user, navigate to Account → Account Settings to generate the restricted API key.

Notes

  • To change Kohort’s access later: Go to Users → Edit user → Permissions and adjust as needed

  • To remove access completely: Go to Users → Remove user
